Home of the Pittsburgh Pirates in Pittsburgh, PA.
The Roberto Clemente Bridge is the ballpark before the ballpark. Cars are banned on game days, so the walk across the yellow steel span — with the skyline rising ahead and the Allegheny below — is how almost everyone arrives, and it sets the tone for everything that follows. PNC Park itself is clad in Kasota limestone that echoes Pittsburgh's sandstone bridges rather than the red brick most parks of its era defaulted to, and the design positions the batter's eye directly toward downtown, so the skyline and the bridge stay in frame from nearly every seat. That view from the upper deck behind home plate is as good as it gets in the major leagues. Inside, order the Primanti Bros. sandwich — capicola, provolone, coleslaw, and fries stacked between the bread — and if you want the local deep cut, find the Renegade Hot Dog loaded with pot roast and pierogies. Book seats on the third-base side for the best skyline angle at night.
