Home of the Houston Astros in Houston, TX.
The locomotive is the thing you remember. When an Astro goes deep, an 1860s-era engine rolls 800 feet of track above the left-field wall, oranges rattling in the tender, and the park holds that sound tight under a closed roof because Houston summers leave no other option. HOK Sport built the whole place around the old Union Station terminal, and the vaulted lobby you walk through on arrival earns its architecture — this is not a tacked-on facade. The Crawford Boxes at 315 feet make left field a legitimate destination during batting practice, and the crowd there treats every fly ball accordingly. For food, go straight to the Brisket Baked Potato: BBQ brisket, cheese, and onions on a Texas-sized potato that handles the full game. Pre-game, 8th Wonder Brewery's outdoor WonderWorld is worth the walk in East Downtown. First-timers should arrive early enough to see the Union Station lobby before it fills.
