The Atlantic Ocean sits just beyond the right-field wall, and that fact alone separates Maimonides Park from every other ballpark in professional baseball. The Parachute Jump rises over right field, the Wonder Wheel and the original Cyclone coaster loom past left, and the Riegelmann Boardwalk runs directly behind the park — the whole place feels like baseball dropped into the middle of a carnival, because it essentially was. Concession stands lit by colored fluorescent lamps reinforce that midway character; grab a Nathan's Famous hot dog, which feels less like a menu choice and more like a geographic obligation. Crowds are loose and festive, the ballgame almost secondary to the spectacle of the surroundings. The D, F, N, and Q trains all stop at Coney Island–Stillwell Avenue, a short walk away, so there's no reason to drive. After the final out, head straight onto the boardwalk — you'll already be there.
