LECOM Park

Low-A home of the Bradenton Marauders of the Florida State League in Bradenton, FL.

What's it like to attend a game at LECOM Park?

The white stucco grandstand rising above McKechnie Field — now called LECOM Park — is the oldest spring training facility still in use, built in 1923 in Spanish Mission style, and it looks it in the best possible way. Covered bleachers wrap a compact seating bowl that keeps you close to the action regardless of where you sit. The Bradenton Boosters, a 120-member volunteer club active since 1979, run ushering and operations with a neighborly efficiency that gives the place a community-fair quality rare in pro baseball. Concessions lean local and unpretentious — grab a Cuban sandwich if one's available; you're in the right part of Florida for it. Parking is straightforward, the surrounding neighborhood is walkable, and the park is easy to navigate inside. First-timers should arrive early, walk the perimeter of the grandstand, and find a seat on the third-base side where the late-afternoon light hits the stucco facade directly behind you.
